JIM CHRISTENSON:
Educational background: Crosby-Ironton High School—1979, Gustavus Aldophus College, Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences and Education—1984, University of St. Thomas, Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction—1993, St. Cloud State University, Sixth Year Program in Administration—2000.
Teaching experience: I started om 1984 and spent 18 wonderful years teaching a variety of science classes for grades 8-12 at Crosby-Ironton. In 2002 I started my administrative career which has evolved into being the 7-12 Principal for C-I schools.
Why I became an educator: I wanted to share my love for science and math with junior high students! After teaching for 18 years, I wanted to expand my learning and to work in a different capacity to continue to make Crosby-Ironton High School the best school possible!
Coaching/advisor duties: As the high school principal, I help advise the 9-12 Student Council. While I was teaching, I coached varsity football, junior high boys basketball (7th and 9th grades) and junior high/junior varsity boys golf.
Other interests/hobbies: In the warm months, I love to golf and spend time on my boat with family and friends. In the winter months, I enjoy snowmobiling and ice fishing. At all times, I love to sing!
