DEB LUSK:
I have been an educator for almost thirty years. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from St. Cloud University in 1975. Since then I have taken 70 credits in various academic areas to hopefully enhance the areas I’ve taught over the years. I started my career in C-I the fall of 1975 in elementary education as a special education teacher. I did this for almost 12 years. After that I taught 10 years in the regular elementary education classroom as a fourth grade teacher and then as a third grade teacher. This was a very special time in my teaching career because I was able to gain a greater perspective about educating all children and experience the love and enthusiasm many children have for learning. Currently I teach special education at the high school and work with 7th -10th grade. This has been an extremely challenging experience and continues to be one. I have learned a great deal about teenagers and about advanced curriculum. I became an educator because I love children. I feel I understand them quite well, and I enjoy helping students develop their abilities. Teaching takes up a great deal of my time; therefore, I have not developed many hobbies. I love music, crafts, and I especially love my family and enjoy spending as much time as I can with them.
