CRES Technology SuccessLEGO LEAGUE
In early December, CRES had five teams compete in a Regional LEGO League Tournament in Hermantown. Our students represented C-I very well and came away with three trophies including: Most Team Spirit, Core Values, and the Judges Award.

One team, "The Toasters" even advanced to the Sectionals Tournament in St. Paul and competed there on January 13th. Even though they did not advance to the state tournament, they did a great job!

As you might know, LEGO League is much more than building and creating with LEGOs. The students had four different components during their tournaments: programming of the robot, explaining the design of the robot, presenting a research project about space (the theme of the tournament), and a core values challenge.

The Cuyuna Lakes Education Foundation (CLEF) recently provided a grant to the CRES Entrepreneurship Club to purchase three "SnapMakers" which are 3-in-1 3D printers. Since then, the club members have conducted research, produced sample products, and have been even selling some of their products. (Look for more info and online order forms soon!)

E2C2On December 11th at the TIES Technology Conference, Mr. Becker and Miss Larsen gave a presentation about their success regarding the launch of the Entrepreneurship Club and use of the SnapMakers. They were also selected to present about this topic at the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) conference in Philadelphia in June.

Keep up the great work, C-I students, and thank you to our teachers and staff including Miss Larsen, Miss Porter, and Mr. Becker for providing such great inspiration and education.
