Welcome to Cuyuna Range Elementary School!

At CRES, it is our distinct privilege to partner with parents and the community to offer our students an education focused on excellence. CRES is a preschool through sixth grade school nestled in northeast Crosby, Minnesota.

Along with our high-tech classrooms, we feature:

  • Two gyms
  • Multiple computer labs
  • A complete band room and music room
  • An art room
  • A “maker space” called the Creative Café
  • An engineering lab

Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) program rivals anything found anywhere in the state, with staff members who are state and national presenters on STEAM education. Our students are being prepared for a future of success. In 2018, CRES received the inaugural STEM Innovation Award, presented by the Minnesota Elementary School Principal's Association and the Science Museum of Minnesota.

Our winning approach is a two-pronged program that includes a “Tech and Innovation” class as part of their rotation as well as an afterschool and summer program called “Bright Futures,” which features activities such as FIRST LEGO League, Rocketry Club, Destination Imagination, and Camp Invention.

CRES offers many unique opportunities that allow our students to discover and develop their passion. Our classroom teachers teach the general subjects, and we have specialists who teach music, band, physical education, technology & innovation, and art. We offer our students many opportunities to utilize technology in their education. This includes the use of mobile laptop labs, Chromebook labs, and iPad labs. Our third through sixth grade students are all assigned an electronic device to help supplement their education.

The staff at CRES is second to none. We love what we do! We have a well-trained and caring staff that is focused on providing all our students with a world-class education. Everybody at CRES is dedicated to developing bright minds for a bright future in a safe and nurturing learning environment. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact any one of our staff members.

What is Paw Pride?
Our school mascot, Una the St. Bernard, was the loyal sidekick of Cuyler Adams, founder of the Cuyuna Range. In honor of Una, we practice "Paw Pride" in everything we do:
Respect Others:
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself
  • Take turns
  • Use polite and kind words
Respect Yourself:
  • Do your best
  • Make good choices
  • Positive attitude
Respect Property:

  • Ask before using
  • Leave things better than you found them
Respect Learning:

  • Ask questions
  • Participate/Get involved
