EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION

Early Childhood Family Education is a class for parents and children, ages birth to Kindergarten, to participate in a variety of activities together, promoting early childhood development and socialization including:

  • Interactive Parent Play/Activities

  • Songs

  • Story Time

  • Gym Time

  • Parent Education

Classes are held in our Little Rangers Family Center at Cuyuna Range Elementary School throughout the school year. We are also adding classes in Emily for the 2023-24 school year! The sessions are offered on a sliding scale fee based on household income.

EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION

Early Childhood Special Education is a program that provides early intervention and preschool special education to young children, age birth to Kindergarten, who show developmental delays in the general areas of speech and language, large and fine motor skills, social and emotional behavior, cognitive and/or adaptive skills, or have vision or hearing loss.  

After a child receives a formal evaluation to identify specific needs, trained ECSE teachers and specialists will work with the parents and child to develop his/her greatest potential. From birth to age three, these Special Education services are delivered to the child primarily in his/her home or child care center. From age three to Kindergarten, children receive these services at Cuyuna Range Elementary School.

Parents have the right to request an educational evaluation if they have concerns about or suspect delays in their child's development. It is provided through the school district educational services at no cost to the family.
