CIS Practical Writing students listened to Mrs. Hachey, a guest speaker, talk about grant and donation writing. Students learned why grants are written, the steps to writing grants, and began the brainstorming process regarding what community needs they see that could benefit from receiving a grant. Mrs. Larson's English 8 students recently completed their creative disaster narrative unit where they got to write their own survival stories and create their own story covers. Students had fun with the freedom to write and publish polished stories!

The Service Action Leadership Team (SALT) is hosting the Walk to HOPE event! The money raised by participants will go to benefit Healing Opportunity Provided Equally (H.O.P.E.), a local non-profit organization in Aitkin that helps individuals and families escape domestic violence and get back on their feet after a difficult period.
Each participant will receive a swag bag. There will also be door prizes available. We encourage everyone to join! We are even hosting a friendly competition between C-I and Aitkin to gather as many participants as possible! We hope to see you there!
