C-I SALT students partnered up with Pequot Lakes' Reel North Alliance to Stomp Out the Stigma at the boys and girls basketball games on Tuesday, January 23rd. Both schools had banners for players and fans to sign, pledging to de-stigmatize mental health matters. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the cause!

Knowledge Bowl traveled to CLC- Staples Campus and competed with 28 teams on Wednesday. Two of our teams placed in the top 5! Placing 4th was Paige Mertens, Austin Robinson, Emily Essman, Corvin Vanvickle, Enoch Anderson. Taking 5th place was Evan Rydberg, Tobias Jacobson, Spencer Hollenhorst, Jonathan Maroney, Brad Lueck. Congratulations, Joe Radinovich, on being inducted into the 2024 Crosby-Ironton Rangers Hall of Fame sponsored by Crosby-Ironton Sports Boosters. Joe was contributor at C-I from 2001-2004 in cross country and track and field. Unified Partners Special Olympics travelled to Staples-Motley yesterday for basketball skills. They practiced dribbling, shooting and passing. They ended the day with a 5 on 5 scrimmage. It was a great day to be a Ranger! #GOCIGO

Two Crosby-Ironton students are participating in the first Certified Nursing Assistant cohort which also includes students from Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, and Pillager. The class began on January 24th at Good Samaritan Society in Brainerd. This cohort is made possible through funding from the Department of Labor and Industry through their Youth Skills Training grants and partnership with instructor Susan Mathison-Young (Advanced Care At Home, LLC), Good Samaritan Society, and the Sourcewell Career Pathways Program.

Crosby hosted Unified Special Olympics Basketball tournament on Thursday, January 25, with teams from Pierz, Pillager and Menahga. Menahga took home the wins in both A and B divisions. It was a great effort from all the players and unified partners! Thank you to all the classes that stopped down to the gyms and cheered for C-I and to all of the community members as well! #GOCIGO

On Friday, January 26, six C-I teams competed at CLC-Staples for 7-9th grade Knowledge Bowl. A team comprised of Sarah Maroney, Benjamin Mueller, and Cooper Peterson took first place out of twenty teams! A team comprised of Noah Dietz, Maverick Booth, Brody Pakarinen, and Diesel Baillargeon took fifth place. We also had teams place in 6th and 8th. Awesome job to all teams!

For their yearly global service project, S.A.L.T. students packed meals at Feed My Starving Children on January 24th. Our C-I group packed 44 boxes, which totaled over 9,500 meals that will be distributed to people experiencing hunger around the world. #stopworldhunger #gocigo
