RED SAND PROJECT The #redsandproject was created to bring awareness to the public on the topic of human trafficking. It is estimated that 40.3 million people are in slavery worldwide. This red sand represents those who have been victims of human trafficking and other forms of slavery and have fallen through the cracks. Students in Global Studies and Environmental Biology filled the cracks, at the high school, with red sand to bring awareness to the issue and become part of the movement. To learn more go to redsandproject.org.

Last Thursday the 8th graders had the opportunity to partake in a Health & Fitness Day put on by Premier Sports Psychology. They learned about focusing and W.I.N.= What’s Important Now to help with challenges and distractions. Box Breathing to help reduce tension, relieve stress, and increase relaxation mentally and physically. Goal Setting to help with motivation, commitment, and focus. They were taught to focus on the process rather than the end achievement. The students got to watch the Twins as they defeated the San Diego Padres 5-3. Thank you CLEF for giving us the opportunity for this amazing learning experience!

College in the Schools Public Speaking students have been working hard the past couple of weeks to prepare and present group speeches. Topics discussed included plastic pollution in the ocean, artificial intelligence (AI), and the movie Finding Nemo. The Finding Nemo group decided to get into the spirit of their topic and dress up for the occasion! A job well done to all groups!
