Eighth grade students visited the Mille Lacs Indian Museum on February 27th to extend their learning related to their American Indian book club unit in English 8 class. While at the museum, students had interactive experiences learning about Ojibwe history and culture. Students visited the Four Seasons room, learned Ojibwe words, shopped at the trading post, played traditional games, went on a scavenger hunt, and learned about treaties.

These 9th graders are taking their babies home for the weekend trial of being single parent! During this time not only are they learning how to care for a new born, they are also learning about SIDS, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Shaken Baby Syndrome. Throughout the quarter they are also learning about cost of living, occupation salaries, materials needed for an infants first year of life, as well as exploring their care/material preferences through online stores.

NEWS RELEASE Crosby-Ironton School Board Selects Superintendent Crosby, MN— At a special board meeting on February 20, 2025, the Crosby-Ironton School Board voted to select Rick Aulie as the district’s next superintendent. Mr. Aulie is currently the Principal PreK-Grade 6 for Pine River-Backus Schools. The school board will be conducting negotiations with Mr. Aulie and a contract is expected to be approved by the school board at a February 24 board meeting.
