Both CRES and the High School are gearing up for a festive week of fun from December 15–19! 🎅🦌❄️

Students in Mrs. Syrstad's Children’s Lit class took lesser-known Brothers Grimm fairytales and rewrote them to be appropriate for an audience of children. Students had to justify their changes and explain how their changes are more developmentally appropriate for a younger audience.
Students then presented them to the class.

The story doesn't end here but this is how the prince's ring spoke to him and found the princess

page 3 of rewrite in which years went by and the wizard came back to claim the old man's daughter and the old man says no you can't have her and the wizard wants her hair instead for a beard so he cut it

The old man and the daughter stood there for a while in shock. He told her to leave so the wizard couldn't hurt her anymore. He gave her a compass and sent her on her way

The daughter run until the sun went down and found herself in a garden with an apple tree. She ate til she was full, and slept against the apple tree. Early in the morning a King from the castle found the girl under the tree. THis is the end of the story but a quick synopsis of the 5 pages here.

🍰Our culinary students have been busy baking up something amazing! 🍰This week, two kitchen groups took on a full scratch-cake challenge — from researching recipes to costing ingredients to creating every layer by hand.

👩‍🍳 Kitchen 1:
Olivia Essman, Taya Hiltbrunner, and Grey Colwell
✨ Made a strawberry cake

👨‍🍳 Kitchen 2:
Zachary Hoyt, Justin Reisz, Jayda Neumann, Avah Stroschein, and Jayda Windorski
✨ Made a butter pecan cake

Students crafted their cakes, fillings, frostings, and coatings completely from scratch — and the results looked incredible! Great job to both teams for their hard work and creativity! 🎉👏

Wednesday, December 10, C-I Schools will have a 2 hour late start. Busses will be at bus stops 2 hours later than usual. There will be no before school activities.

C-I Schools will be dismissing two hours early today due to the incoming winter storm.

CRES - 1:00 pm departure
High School - 1:15 pm departure

No after school activities. Wrestling is postponed and will be rescheduled.
