“Find a career that you’re passionate about, don’t base your career on money. If you like your job and it’s your passion, you’ll enjoy it and others will enjoy working with you.” Lea St. Onge , HR and Finance Coordinator for the CI School District, shared her wealth of knowledge and expertise with the Money Management and Career Seminar students. Lea created a hands-on experience for our students, walking the students through all of the federal, state, and workplace specific paperwork that need to be completed and understood as new employees.

Maddie, from Maddie’s Macarons, came into the Culinary Arts 2 class to talk about the science of baking. With her guidance, the class attempted to make meringue and found out just how precise the measurements and materials needed to be to find success! Thank you for taking time from your busy life to share your expertise, and thank you for bringing us your amazingly delicious macarons!

February was National Children's Dental Health Month and CRES has been busy with activities regarding dental health. The kindergarteners were visited by Dr's Victoria and Mclean Severson and Jenni Kannel of River Oaks Dental. The students learned about keeping teeth healthy, why we lose our teeth and what happens when we visit the dentist. Thank you River Oaks staff! All kindergarteners took home a dental bag with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, water bottle and a tooth timer courtesy of the Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation. Our school was able to host the Minnesota School Sealant Program again this year. Students were able to receive free or reduced cost preventative dental services at CRES during the school day. This year 36 students received preventative dental services. Thank you to Dr. Dens and his staff. Also check out a lesson about the parts of a tooth and an art project the 1st graders were doing this month.

This past weekend, the band and choir traveled on a tour to Wisconsin Dells, and participated in a masterclass at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. At the college, the students had the privilege to work with music professors that gave them new tips and feedback for the students to improve. The students had a blast spending time with each other and were very respectful at college and hotel. We would like to thank our amazing community for their support in our fundraisers, programs, and students for helping to make this happen!
